Aamer Durg (also known as Aamer’s Fort or the Fort of Amber) is a hill fort situated on a high hill in the Amer region of Rajasthan, the capital of Rajasthan state of India.
This is the tourist attraction of Jaipur city. Aamer’s town was originally settled by the local Means, at which time the Kachwaha Rajput Man Singh Lion ruled and constructed this fort. This fort and palace are also known for its artistic pure Hindu architectural elements. This fort filled with vast ramparts, door chains and roads made of stones, appears to be looking at the Maivatha Sarovar, right below the hill.
This charming and gorgeous castle made of red sandstone and marble has been built on four levels of the hill, each of which has a huge courtyard. In this, there is the courtyard of the Diwan-i-Aama, the common man, the Diwan-i-Khas, the special premises, the Sheesh Mahal or the Jai Temple and the Sukh Niwas. Situated artificially made of water streams in the Hukam Niwas part, it was very exciting in the hot summers here. This palace used to be the residence of the Kachwaha Rajput Maharajas and their families. Within the fort, near the main entrance of the palace, his aadhaa is a temple dedicated to the Goddess of Chaitanya Puja. Aamer and Jaigad Durg are built on a mountain of the Aravali ranges and are connected by the way of a secret mountain tunnel.

In the 37th session of the World Heritage Committee held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 2013, along with five other fortresses of Rajasthan, Amard Durg has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the hill fortresses of Rajasthan.

Fort Layout : The Palace is divided into six main sections : First courtyard : Impressive stairway from Jalebi Chowk leads into the main palace grounds , Second courtyard : The second courtyard houses the Diwan-i-Aam or the Public Audience Hall. Built with a double row of columns , Third courtyard : The third courtyard is where the private quarters of the Maharaja, his family and the attendants , @ the same section : Magic flower , Garden , Tripolia gate , Lion gate / Fourth courtyard : The fourth courtyard is where the Royal family women, including concubines or mistresses lived.South of this courtyard lies the Palace of Man Singh I, the oldest part of the palace fort.

Visiting the Fort area : Amber Fort is open daily from 8 a.m. until 5.30 p.m / Entrance Fees: Indian: Rs.25, Foreigners: Rs.200 / You can walk, take a jeep, or opt for an elephant ride up the hill to the fort.
