Auronzo di Cadore is among the best-known tourist locations in the Veneto and is located on the shores of Lake Santa Caterina ,or better known as Lake Auronzo ,an artificial basin, with  3 km of length. The town is made up of 11 villages and/or hamlets: Cima Gogna, Cella, Villapiccola, Villagrande, Riziò, Reane, Pause, Ligonto, Giralba, S. Marco and Misurina.
Auronzo is considered one of the most important tourist resorts in Cadore, near the lake there are a long queue of hotels with a capacity of around 500 beds. Auronzo is the ideal destination for relaxation and outdoor sports,  thanks to its mountain bike routes, black slopes, trekking with challenging differences in altitude and climbing.
