Bad Kohlgrub is a village in the Upper Bavarian district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.Germany.

Bad Kohlgrub is located in the Ammergau Alps Nature Park. Here, in the picturesque foothills of the Alps, the spa and bathing establishments offer a variety of treatments.
The spa tradition that has grown since 1870 and the sustained, thick, pulpy mountain pine raised bog has made us one of the top addresses for those seeking healing and relaxation for decades.

Here, at an altitude of 900 m above sea level, there is a natural storehouse of mountain-pine peat deposits, which laid the foundation for the development of one of the most effective mud baths in Europe.
The place first appeared in history as a “bath” in 1871, when such a facility was built and approved around the local steel springs in the Gagers district. The place only became a mud spa after they had dried up. The healing power of the surrounding high moor against gout, sciatica, gynecological problems and the like was known to the locals for a long time.

Bad Kohlgrub – the spa town in the Ammergau Alps, can look back on more than 140 years of spa history. The basis for tourism is health care. Bad Kohlgrub is known for high moor mountain pine applications, and the moor / peat provided for balneology is one of the best-researched peats.
