Monschau is located in the Eifel Natural Park area ,in the narrow Rour (or Roer) valley.
The historical center of Monschau  with the narrow streets and half-timbered houses , which have hardly changed in 300 years, attract many tourists. In addition, the remains of Monschau Castle, towering above the city, is a place of interest. Monschau is famous for its folk crafts: ceramics, glassmaking, and embroidery. Historically, the city was famous for its cloth production.
Today famous for its well-preserved historic half-timber houses , Monschau called the “Pearl of the Eifel”, overall a favorite spot and one of the most instagrammable places in Germany.
