Beng Mealea is a Hindu temple ruin from the Angkor Wat period, in Svaileo District, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia.
Beng Mealea is located about 40 km east of Angkor and dates back to the middle of the 12th century, the temple complex covered an area of 181 meters by 152 meters and was the center of a city, which in turn was surrounded by a 45-meter-wide moat, 1,025 meters long in the west-east direction and 875 meters in the north-south direction. Beng Mealea faces east, but also has entrances in the other directions. There is a baray to the east. Many of the reliefs show scenes from Hindu epics with Vishnu and Shiva.
The site was proposed as a candidate for the UNESCO World Heritage List on 1 September 1992, in the cultural category.
