The Ta Prohm is an abandoned ancient Buddhist monastic complex near the city of Siem Reap, in Cambodia.

Ta Prohm located about two kilometers northeast of Angkor Wat, and consists the most famous and largest temple in the Angkor area. The temple complex consisted of 39 prasats, 566 stone and 288 brick structures, which housed 260 statues of gods, in addition to statues of Jayavarman’s mother.
After filming scenes of the fantasy action movie “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” in the temple, Cambodians began to call Ta Ta Prohm the temple of Angelina Jolie ,Particularly impressive are the strangler figs  and the even larger Tetrameles nudiflora, whose roots grow over entire buildings.
