Christmas Island (Territory of Christmas Island) is an island in the Indian Ocean , It is located in the Indian Ocean around 350 kilometres south of Java and Sumatra and is politically part of Australia.

Christmas Island is the largest coral island in the world. It is located in the Indian Ocean and is an external territory of Australia. The capital is Flying Fish Cove.The island is surrounded by a narrow tropical reef. The coral reefs of Christmas Island are considered some of the most interesting in the world for diving and snorkeling.

Christmas Island is famous for the annual migration of red crabs. Tourists and their fellow travelers will be able to observe this phenomenon in November or December.
