Costa Nova do Prado, in the municipality of Ílhavo, is the chosen place, due to its proximity to the beaches, for many people’s holidays.
On Main Street In Costa Nova  ,visitors can find the  “Palheiros”, famous characteristic houses painted with colorful stripes on a white background. These houses at the beginning of the 19th century,   were originally used by fishermen to store their fishing materials , since the the area was transformed into a seaside resort, known for its fresh fish – seafood and the Candy-Striped Painted Beach Houses.
