Coumeenole Beach is a small beach  on the Dingle Peninsula , is known as the western tip of Ireland and mainland Europe.
The Dingle Peninsula is a hotspot for Irish tourism. Its beaches are very popular. Coomeenoole beach, in Slea Head , was used  as a setting for certain scenes from the film Ryan’s Daughter (1970) by David Lean.
Coumenoole Beach can be accessed by a very steep and winding road under high cliffs and looking out to the deserted Blasket Islands,  this is one of the most iconic beaches on the Dingle Peninsula,strong currents make it unsafe for swimming.

Access : Coordinates: 52.109904, -10.462641 / The closest passenger airport to Coumeenole is Kerry Airport (KIR) in Ireland, 65 km (40 miles) away  / The Slea Head Drive road leads to the tip of the peninsula. / Parking  can be tight in sunny days.

  • Coumeenole Beach : Famous as one of the locations in the film “Ryan’s Daughter” (1970).
  • Surfing at Inchydoney Beach , this beach is not suitable for swimmers as the currents are strong here and it’s a popular spot for surfers.
