Lübbenau/Spreewald is a town in the Upper Spree-Lusatian district in the Land of Brandenburg, located about 80 kilometers southeast of Berlin, Germany.
Lübbenau/Spreewald is a town in the Upper Spree-Lusatian district  in the federal state of Brandenburg , located about 80 kilometers southeast of Berlin, Germany. Due to its position, the historic town is known as the gateway to the Spree Forest.

Libenau was first mentioned in a document in 1315, but is believed to be a much older settlement due to excavations under the castle showing an 8th or 9th century settlement. From 1364 to 1635, Libenau was part of the Kingdom of Bohemia and then until 1815 Libenau was part of the electorate of Saxony. From 1815 to 1918, Libenau belonged to the Kingdom of Prussia.
Libenau offers a multitude of sights. Starting from the old town, visitors can take a traditional boat ride or visit the castle with its landscaped park. There are bike paths to neighboring villages, and ferry lines are a favorite among tourists.

Access : Coordinates: 51.866667, 13.966667 / Lübbenau is on the A 13 from Berlin to Dresden./ There are direct train connections from Berlin, Cottbus, Görlitz, Senftenberg, Hoyerswerda and Rathenow.

  • The well-known Spreewald is located southeast of Berlin in Brandenburg. The Spree branches out into numerous streams here. The popular boat trips are offered on these watercourses.The forest was designated in 1991 by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve.This space is made up of marshes and more than 200 small navigable canals (called “Fließe”) with a total length of 1300 kilometres.
  • Lübbenau has the largest barge port in the Spreewald. The boat ferry people from Lübbenau and Lehde have joined forces to form the boat ferry cooperative and offer numerous round trips from the Spreewald port in Lübbenau.
  • Lübbenau has a 19th century castle, built between 1817 and 1839, on the site of the ruins of a previous castle dating from the 8th or 9th century. Lübbenau Castle, surrounded by a park laid out according to plans by Peter Joseph Lenné, is now a hotel. Yhe parish church of St. Nikolai in the old town , Ehm-Welk-Strasse.
  • The history of the city walls dates back to the Middle Ages, and the museum next to the wall shows the entire history of the city.
  • One of the most popular boat trips in Lübbenau is the approximately 5-hour route through Lehde to the popular tourist spot Wotschofska and back.
  • At the Great Harbor you can try a wide variety of flavors of the famous Spreewald cucumber on the cucumber mile.
  • Lübbenau is actually the secret cucumber capital capital of the Spreewald, because nowhere else in the region can you find so many cucumber processing companies.
