Manuel Antonio is in the Central Pacific region of Costa Rica. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Costa Rica due to its beautiful beaches and rich wildlife. Manuel Antonio area stretches from the town of Quepos and then along a 6 km serpentine road uphill and then back down to the beautiful Playa Espadilla and the entrance of the Manuel Antonio National Park. The road to the beach and park is surrounded by a large number of hotels and restaurants, offering the visitor a selection of places to stay and eat.

PLAYA MANUEL ANTONIO As mentioned above, this beach is separated from Playa Espadilla Sur by a land bridge (formed by sand accumulations). This beach is host to tidal pools and offers the opportunity to go snorkeling. Rated as one of the top ten most beautiful beaches in the world, Playa Manuel Antonio is a half mile long with white sands and bordered by deep green mangroves and palms. Also known as one of the best swimming beaches in Costa Rica, Playa Manuel Antonio can get busy early in the day – be sure to arrive before 10 am to secure your spot for the day. Perfect place for swimming. To get there you have to pay entrance fee cca 9000 CRC

A must-see is the Manuel Antonio National Park as well as the beautiful beaches , Playa Espadilla Sur , Playa Biesanz and Playa Macha

Acces : From San Jose, Manuel Antonio can be reached by either bus or by plane, via the airport located 5 min outside of Quepos. Tracopa offers daily public buses. Several Shuttle bus companies has daily routes that can take from San Jose and many other cities.
New Backpacker shuttle service from San Jose to Manuel antonio or viceversa . Buses run up and down the mountain every 30 minutes during the day stopping at many places along the way. Cost is approximately $0.57 USD (315 colones, the local currency). Taxis are also readily available at approx $8 from Quepos to Manuel Antonio.
