Railay beach is a well-known  beach in the Thai province of Krabi. Railay is a small peninsula of the Krabi region, on the southern coast of Thailand.

This place is famous throughout the world for the images of huge limestone cliffs that plunge directly into the sea.
Located a few minutes by boat from Ao Nang, the famous Railay Beach is possibly one of the most beautiful bays in the world.
The peninsula is divided into 4 zones or main beaches.

Railay beaches :

  •  West Railay (Railay Beach) : The west beach of Railay, also called Railay beach, is one of the best beaches in Thailand. It is a long stretch of fine sand washed by a shallow sea and surrounded by cliffs.
  •  East railay : From Railay beach, walking 10 minutes through a  path, you reach the east beach of Railay. The bottom of this beach is muddy and at high tide there is hardly any beach. This makes it practically impossible to swim or bathe in.
  •  Phra Nang beach : It is the southernmost beach in Railay. It is reached by a short 10-minute walk from East Railay, It is one of the most famous beaches of Krabi and in high season it is quite busy by tourists.
  •  Tonsai Beach ¨: It is possibly the least known and busy beach of all of the Railay peninsula,Going to Railay from Ao Nang, this beach is on the left, just before reaching Railay beach. Among the main activities that can be done in it is diving, kayak rental and especially climbing.

Access : Coordinates: 8.010556, 98.839444 / Krabi International Airport is the closest to Railay beach. From it, it is easy to travel to the Krabi pier or to the town of Ao Nang. The taxi or the shared Van are the fastest transport, it takes about 20 minutes. . Once get there , at the destination you should take a boat or Longtail, since the Railay peninsula can only be reached by boat because it is surrounded by sea and high rocks. Also, during the day, numerous tours and excursions arrive from other places like Phuket and the Phi Phi Islands. If your destination is Tonsai Beach, it is advisable to get to Ao Nang and take a longtail there. From Railay it is possible to reach the Phi Phi and Koh Lanta Islands by ferry.
Railay Bay is 10 minutes away by boat or Long tail from Ao Nang. Tickets are purchased in the center of Ao Nang, at the office in front of the beach.

Walk to Railay’s viewpoint, This route, between East Railay and Phra Nang takes you, in about 30 minutes, to the highest point of the peninsula / Excursions from Railay Beach to : Hong Island , Phi Phi Islands , island of Koh Lanta
