Sport Climbing - Siurana is one of the most popular Spanish sport climbing destinations
Siurana (Tarragona) is a village of the municipality of the Cornudella de Montsant in the comarca of Priorat, Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain.

Siurana is not all about top-end climbing, with more than 100 routes up to French 7a. The beautiful and wild landscape, the proximity to Barcellona (and low-cost flights) and the vast choice of other world-class crags (Margalef, Montsant and Arboli to name but three) render Siurana an ideal holiday destination.

Located just outside the Montsant region, it is just east of main town of the municipality Cornudella de Montsant and consists of a small village at the top of an escarpment in the Prades Mountains overlooking the Siurana Reservoir and is often visited by tourists to the area for its historical relevance and excellent views of the Embalse and surrounding valley.

History :  La Siurana is the Christian name for the town. Originally, it was known by the Latin name of La Seviriana, but was changed to Xibrana after being conquered by the Islamics. Access : Coordinates: 41.25, 0.933333 / By plain : Reus, though it is easier to find low cost tickets to Barcellona el Prat, which is a 2 hours drive from Siurana. By car : From Barcellona take the motorway E15 for Taragona. Exit for Reus and continue along the T11 for Les Borges del Camp, then turn off right onto the C242 for Cornudella di Montsant. From here begin the climb up to Siurana village . Best activity: Sport Climbing – Siurana is one of the most popular Spanish sport climbing destinations. It is home to ‘La Rambla’, one of the most famous 9a+ routes in the world , Camping , Hiking , Canoa Kayac , Wine testing , Mountain Bike.
