Calangaman Island is a sandbar rising above sea level, formed on a coral reef, shaped like a crescent and measuring several hectares. At low tide, the island rises about two meters above sea level at its highest point and is covered with nipa and coconut palms. The coastline of the island is the Nunez Shoal, which is considered a first-class diving area. In the waters around the island, moray eels, stonefish, triggerfish, anemonefish and tubeworms can be observed.
Calangaman can be reached from the port of Palompon Municipality, Villaba and Bago City, Cebu Island by rented outrigger boats, the crossing takes approximately one to two hours, depending on the weather.
