Malarikkal is a backwater village in Kottayam district of Kerala,  in southern India.
The village has an estimated 600-700 acres of paddy fields where pink water lilies bloom, this time of the year. the ideal time to see the flowers is between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. The flowers have become a must-have backdrop for photos on social media with people increasingly using this stunning pink vista for selfies, family and wedding photo-shoots.
