The Wave ,  Arizona


The Wave is a sandstone rock formation located in Arizona, United States, near its northern border with Utah.These undulating yellow and orange rocks date back to the Jurassic Period, approximately 160 to 180 million years ago. They had been waiting  all this time  to be admired by the entire world.  Due the  fragility has meant that only 20 people a day can visit the wave.

Watson Lake is one of two reservoirs at Granite Dells, 4 miles from Prescott ,in Yavapai County and the state of Arizona, in the southern part of the country, 3,200 km west of Washington, D.C , which was formed in the early 1900s when the Chino Valley Irrigation District built a dam on Granite Creek. The city of Prescott bought the reservoir and surrounding land in 1997 to preserve it as recreational land .

It protects a desert valley with bizarre forms of erosion in volcanic rock. It is accessible via hiking a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) round trip from U.S. Route 89, but an access road  also reaches the geological structure, as it is part of a state park.

The Mariposa Grove is a forest of rare mammoth trees or giant sequoias (Sequoiadendron giganteum) near Wawona, in the far south of Yosemite National Park, in the US state of California. It is the largest collection of giant sequoias in the park and one of the 68 sequoia groves in the Sierra Nevada, their natural range. Two of the trees in the Mariposa Grove, the Washington Tree and the Grizzly Giant, are among the 30 largest giant sequoias in the world.
