The northern forts of Liepaja are part of the Liepaja fortress ,which is located on the coast of the Baltic Sea in the south-western part of Latvia.
The northern forts are the best-known and most impressive part of the Liepaja fortress. Their historical name is Fortress Battery No. 1.
There is a car park next to the forts. Being in the Northern Forts, it is worth walking around the 4 km long section of the sea coast to Liepāja’s Northern Pier, where you can see two coastal defense batteries on the sea shore and in the sea with very amazing views.
