Achmelvich Beach is a stunning beach with white sand and a popular spot for water skiers, windsurfers and kayakers. It is a busy beach during the summer months.

Achmelvich Beach is a stunning beach with white sand and a popular spot for water skiers, windsurfers and kayakers. It is a busy beach during the summer months.

As a settlement, Achmelvich is spread over the surrounding hills, with a focal point being the beach which has been consistently awarded the “MCS recommended” status, and also given the blue flag award. There are two campsites and caravans parks in the area, both have residential caravans for rent, although only one has pitches for tents, caravans and tents. There is also a small laundry, shop and take-out. These sides overlook the beach, with views of the Minch and Port Altan Na Bradhan.

The main Park Beach  is separated from the beach by machair and has been recently modernized. Hostel, Tourist Information Hut and public toilets are located at the main beach of the car park.
Achmelvich it is a popular tourist destination. It has a beautiful coastline which won the Marine Conservation Society’s Blue Flag award for the clean water.

Access : Coordinates: 58.17, -5.3 / Address :   Lochinver, The Highlands, IV27 4JB, Scotland / No public tranpost. Achmelvich Beach can be reached by following a good footpath from Baddidarrach in Lochinver.
/ Take the B869 about 1/2 a mile from the village of Lochinver on the A 83.
