Crail is a historic fishing village located on the Fife Peninsula, in Scotland ,United Kingdom.
Originally, the place lived from fishing, which the Crail Harbor bears witness to. In the 9th century, Crail traded heavily with the continent. The royal castle Crail Castle was – like the Crail Parish Church – built in the 12th century, the pigeon tower in the 16th century. The market cross dates from the 17th century.
Built around a natural harbor it houses, numerous buildings have been restored by the National Trust for Scotland and one of Scotland’s oldest churches, dating back to the 13th century. Fish can still be purchased at the port, but this is primarily a tourist attraction.

- The beginnings of the settlement date back to at least the 9th century. In 1310, Robert I Bruce granted it a market privilege and royal burgh status.
- Carboniferous fossilized trees can be seen on the beach next to the port.
- Northeast of Crail, there is a disused military airfield, used by the Royal Navy and then by the Royal Air Force in 1918–1919. Re-opened in 1940, it was a Fleet Air Arm base until the end of World War II. After the war, at the airport there were, among others Naval School (1947-1949), Black Watch Battalion Barracks and Military Language School (1956-1960).
- In 2017, the Community Council received a patent for the shield and coat of arms of Crail. It was lost when the Royal City Council was abolished in 1976.
