Emerald Lake – Sa Morakot and Blue Pool, as well as thermal springs, are located in the national park, Khao Phra Bang Khram.on the border of Krabi and Trang provinces in Thailand.
Emerald Lake is not the only lake in this place. There are several other lakes less than two kilometers from Sa Morakot. The Blue Pool is the most famous of them.
The water in this reservoir is so clean and transparent that you can see the bottom in the smallest details.Lake Sa Morakot is famous for its extraordinary color of water, which, depending on the time of day and lighting, changes color in the range from subtle blue to intense emerald.
The depth of the lake is 1.5 meters, and the water temperature is at least twenty-five degrees Celsius. All this makes it an ideal swimming place, not only for foreign tourists, but also for the local population.

Access : Coordinates:7.9251, 99.2681 / Emerald Pool,Sa Morakot , located relatively close, forty kilometers from the city of Krabi, towards the border with Malaysia, you can get there by a rented motorbike, car or taxi.  You can get to the lakes on foot   along a scenic path about 1.8 km long. The trail goes through mangroves and patches of rainforest.

Highlights :

  •  What time to come to the Emerald Lake : It is best to arrive early in the morning. This is if you want to save money on entry. The ticket office is open from 8.00 to 17.00 hours, and the territory is not fenced.
  •  Emerald Lake is not the only lake in the region. Within a radius of less than two kilometers from Sa Morakot, there are several more lakes.

For foreigners, the entrance is 200 baht per person (for children – 100 baht).

Activities : sightseeing / photo opportunities / trekking, You can get to the lakes along a scenic trail  through mangroves and sections of rainforest / swim in the clear cool waters of an emerald lake, and in the depths of the forest you will see a mysterious blue pond.
