The former mountain farming village was transformed in the 20th century into a hotel settlement that caters to mass tourism. During the ski season, numerous après-ski parties and concerts by various international pop stars take place there.
Located at an altitude of almost 1,400 meters in Paznaun, the town is known for its Silvretta Arena ski area with 238 kilometers of slopes and 45 lifts, which is connected to the Swiss municipality of Samnaun.The leisure facilities are varied, with the Silvretta Center bringing together in one space an indoor swimming pool with sauna, eight tennis courts, a billiard room and a bowling alley.
