The Bogd Khan Uul is considered the oldest continuously protected natural park in the world,The national park with an area of 67,300 hectares has been registered as a UNESCO biosphere reserve since 1996.Bogd Khan Uul has two main peaks: the eastern one is called Cecee Gun uul (2256.3 m above sea level), the western and lower one – Dzuun Szireet uul (2122.0 m above sea level).Hiking trails lead from the town of Zuunmod to the summit.
Today it is a biosphere reserve that claims to be the oldest national park on the planet. The mountain, 2256.3 meters high, is considered sacred by local residents; it is even called a place of power.
