Lake Marian is located at an elevation of 695 m in the Darran Mountains, approximately 6 km east-southeast of the eastern entrance to the Homer Tunnel, which as a road tunnel provides access to Milford Sound/Piopiotahi further north-northwest.
The lake can be hiked via the 3.1 km Lake Marian Track, which is accessed from the dirt road of Lower Hollyford Road and is approximately 1.45 km away by car from New Zealand State Highway 94. The hiking time is given by the Department of Conservation as 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Lake Marian consists probably Milford Sound’s ,one of the most photogenic and most photographed point.
