Ma Pi Leng Pass is a pass on the 4C Highway in the land of Prang Lung and Pa Vi, Meo Vac district, Ha Giang province North Vietnam.
Ma Pi Leng is referred to by visitors as one of the “four great mountain peaks” in the northern mountains of Vietnam, next to O Quy Ho Pass, Khau Pha Pass and Pha Pha Din.In order to help the mountainous region catch up with the lowland, on March 29, 1959, after 5 years from the year of peace in the North of Vietnam Central Party of Labor, the Viet Bac Party Committee decided to open Ha Giang – Dong Van – Meo Vac.
Ma Pi Leng Pass is about 20 km long. It is located on the road called “Happiness”, connecting Ha Giang city, Dong Van district, and Meo Vac town.
Feeling in front of the legendary street, musician Nguyen Trung Thuong, composed the song “Spring Road” with very romantic and heroic lyrics.
With rugged terrain and majestic pristine landscapes, Ma Pi Leng pass is one of the “four great mountain peaks” of the northern mountainous region of Vietnam (along with Pha Din pass, O Quy Ho pass, Khau Pha pass ).
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Vietnam) decided to classify Ma Pi Leng area as a national monument On November 16, 2009.Ma Pi Leng pass is considered a special geological and landscape heritage area the top of the pass is considered as one of the most beautiful panoramic views in Vietnam.
Description : Ma Pi Leng Pass is a 20km long rugged mountain pass that surpasses the Ma Pi Leng peak, a peak of about 1,200 m high on the Dong Van Plateau, located on the road named Hanh Phuc Street connecting Ha Giang City.
The Ma Pi Leng route connects Dong Van and Meo Vac with the section of the 9-km pass 9 km later becoming a feat that many people liken to a Great Wall of Vietnam or the Pyramid of Meo . At the top of Ma Pi Leng pass, also the highest point of Hanh Phuc road , there is a stop for tourists to visit and here, a stone tablet is recorded to record the marks during the construction of the pass.

- Views : Ma Pi Leng pass is considered a special geological and landscape heritage area the top of the pass is considered as one of the most beautiful panoramic views in Vietnam; Nho Que river alley is one of the unique tectonic valleys in Vietnam.
- Top of the pass : At the top of the pass, there is a stop station for visitors to admire the scenery, and here is also placed a stone tablet recording the impression of the process of road construction, the history of the road named Hanh Phuc. At the stop, standing on the top of the pass, you will be able to enjoy the majestic scenery, the mountainous mountains of the Ha Giang plateau.
- A national landscape monument : The Ma Pi Leng area in 2009 was classified by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national landscape monument. This pass has also been put into the romantic and heroic lyrics of musician Nguyen Trung Thuong in the song “Spring Road” and has been included many times in the poems of famous poets.

Ha Noi road to Ma Pi Leng more than 400km, this distance is quite far, you can choose one of the two following ways: Hanoi to Ma Pi Leng by motorbike,traveling by motorbike will take about 6-8 hours ride / Hanoi to Ma Pi Leng by bus : You can catch the bus to go to Ha Giang from My Dinh, Gia Lam, Giap Bat, Nuoc Bat bus stations … (from 5am to 9pm).
Tip : The DPC also warns residents and tourists to be alert when walking through the hilly roads that often occur during landslides during the rainy season.
