The Saint Benedictine Melk Abbey (Stift Melk in German) is located on the Danube in Lower Austria, on the Wachau valley , above the town of Melk.
As a symbol of Wachau, he enjoys the protection of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. For more than 900 years, monks have lived here under the Benedictine Order and perform their duties, education, and pastoral work.

By car : Melk can be reached from Vienna and Salzburg or Linz via the A1 West Motorway. Along the Danube the B3 run on the left and the B33 on the right bank; they are connected by a bridge on the outskirts of Melk.

By bus
The WL1 bus line runs every hour from Melk on the left bank of the Danube via Spitz to Krems on the Danube, the WL2 line runs every two hours on the right bank.

Hours: Melk Abbey can be visited daily, year round. Hours are as follows: April to October: 9:00 am – 5:30 pm , November to March: Visit by guided tour only at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. Tours for groups can be arranged between 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
The Park and Pavilion are open daily from May to October 9:00 am- 6:00 pm
Admission Prices: Admission is €12.50 without a guided tour or €14.50 with a guided tour. Tickets include admission to the Abbey Park, Garden Pavilion and Bastion.
