Pontarfynach, or Devil’s Bridge is a village and community in Ceredigion, Wales ,United Kingdom.
Over the River Mynach on the outskirts of the village is the unusual road bridge from which the village takes its English name.
According to local legend, Devil’s Bridge got its name from an old story about a wise old Welsh woman who, thanks to her cunning, twisted the devil himself around her finger
The “Devil’s Bridge” over the Mynach has been a destination for travelers for centuries. Interest in the wild Welsh landscape was heightened with the emergence of the footpaths on Thomas Johnes’ Hafod Estate.
