Sutherland Fall is a waterfall near Milford Sound (Fiordland) in southern New Zealand.
Sutherland Falls is located in Fiordland National Park, 21 km southwest of Milford Sound/Piopiotahi and 8 km east of Te Hāpua/Sutherland Sound, north of the Franklin Mountains.
The falls are fed by the almost circular Lake Quill, which is located directly above the falls. The drop height of the waterfall is 580 m. Sutherland Falls can be seen in the background of the eagle scene near the end of Peter Jackson’s fantasy film The Hobbit.
