The Fisherman’s Bastion ( Halászbástya ) is a neo-Romanesque monument in the Hungarian capital Budapest.

The promenade was built between 1895 and 1902 in the neo-Romanesque style by Frigyes Schulek, who was then responsible for the construction of the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption in Budavár in place of the old walls of the Palace of Budavar.
From the towers and the terrace with panoramic views you can admire Margaret Island, the Pest area and Gellert Hill. Its seven towers represent the seven Magyar tribes who settled in the Carpathian basin in 896.
Fisherman’s Bastion is a famous instaspot and a  notable tourist attraction in Budapest, it offers a panorama of the city, being located parallel to the Danube.
