The building, which is Hungary’s largest, is located on Kossuth Square  and construction began as early as 1885, but was not completed until 1904. Nearby is the Kossuth Lajos ter metro station on line M2.
The building is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List together with the Royal Castle and other buildings on the banks of the Danube, is one of Europe’s oldest parliament buildings and a well-known landmark in Hungary as well as a popular tourist attraction in Budapest.
