The pink lighthouse of Klein Curacao is located at the Klein Curacao – in Dutch Klein Curacao which means Little Curacao- is a small island in the Caribbean Sea and is part of the Dutch country of Curaçao. and has an estimated area of 1.7 km², The only structures on the island are an old abandoned lighthouse, a beach house, and several huts.
The lighthouse was built in 1850 on the islet southeast of the island of Curacao.The tower is 22 meters (66 feet) tall and lit by a solar-powered LED light.
Despite having been rebuilt in 1879 and 1913, the lighthouse is completely abandoned. The last implementation that was made was an LED solar energy bulb that emits white flashes in periods of 15 seconds. The buildings located directly around the lighthouse are 2 keepers houses, both 2 stories in height.
Small boats visit the island every day, it is guarded by the coastguards of the Netherlands Antilles. Among the main economic activities are tourism, especially diving and boat trips.
