Valle de la Luna ( The Moon Valley ) is a wilderness area wich is located near the center of La Paz, in Bolivia.
The Moon Valley consists of thousands of rocks, crevices, mounds and crater-like formations. The towers and pyramids are gray-brown to reddish and have almost no vegetation
The valley is located ten kilometers from the city of La Paz, in the province of Pedro Domingo Murillo, department of La Paz. According to local guides, Valle de la Luna got its name after Neil Armstrong visited the place and noted that the landscape resembled a lunar one.
Contrary to its name, it is not really a valley, but a labyrinth of canyons and giant spiers. Today Valle de la Luna Considered a major tourist attraction and an excellent photo location.
