Warnemunde is a seaside resort north of Hanseatic city Rostock
Warnemunde is a seaside resort  and a district north of Hanseatic city of  Rostock, to which it is administratively attached. It lies at the mouth of the Warnow, which gave it its name, and overlooks the Baltic Sea. Its long and  wide beaches are among the largest in Germany. This small town is known for its small fishing port, the sale of fresh fish live boats and its promenade lined with restaurants.

is a district in the north of the Hanseatic city of Rostock in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania,Germany . It was first mentioned in 1195 in Danish documents. Since 1323 it belongs to Rostock. For centuries Warnemunde was mainly a small harbor and fishing village, On June 26, 1886 the railway connection to Rostock and Berlin and the mail steamer connection to Gedser in Denmark were opened, first with the paddle steamers Kaiser Wilhelm and King Christian. 1903 opened the new station beyond the old stream and the railway ferry Warnemunde-Gedser, which also carried cars from 1926. Since 1971 the Hotel Neptun is located directly on the Baltic Sea beach.
Today  the Warnemünde   has become a place of pilgrimage for visitors from the Scandinavian countries. the widest sandy beach on the German Baltic Sea coast.
Every summer, the Warnemunde Week and the Hanse Sail take place in the district, each attracting around one million visitors. In addition, Warnemunde is Germany’s most important cruise port.

Access : Coordinates: 54.166667, 12.083333 / By bus : From Rostock Eurolines offers daily bus connections to Copenhagen as well as via Berlin to Dresden. Departures for these lines start at the ferry terminal in Uberseehafen or at the interchange Dierkower Kreuz in the northeast of the city. Since April 25, 2013, the bus company FlixBus also serves a line from Berlin ZOB to Rostock. Stops are Rostock ZOB (place of friendship), S-Bahn Warnemunde-Werft and Warnemunde-Strand /

By car : Rostock can be reached via the A20 motorway on the Baltic Sea. If you leave the junction Rostock-West, you can quickly reach the district of Ostseebad Warnemunde on a freeway. From the south, the A19 leads to Rostock. This motorway leads through the toll Warnow Tunnel under the Warnow on the expressway towards Warnemunde. For the easy passage with a motorcycle or car one pays 4.20 € from May to October, the remaining year 3.40 € /
By bicycle : The Berlin-Copenhagen Cycle Route passes through Rostock.The Baltic Sea Cycle Route surrounds the entire Baltic Sea and also leads through Warnemunde./

By boat : There are popular ferry services from Rostock harbor to Gedser in Denmark and Trelleborg in Sweden. Scandlines travels the Rostock – Gedser line with up to 10 departures daily. A crossing takes about 2 hours,There are two companies on the Rostock – Trelleborg line. Stenaline usually rides three times a day, with a night ferry at 22:45. the Finnish company Silja Line has been carrying out regular ferry services between the port of Rostock and St. Petersburg. regular direct high-speed connections to the ports of Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.

By cruise ship : The cruise port or Warnemunde Cruise Center is located on the other bank of the Warnow in the seaside resort of Warnemunde ,  By plane : Rostock has an international airport : Rostock Laage. / The Warnemunde Cruise Center was opened in 2005. In 2018, the cruise port recorded over 200 cruise ship arrivals from 44 ships in Warnemunde and the Rostock overseas port.

  • Heimatmuseum Warnemunde , Alexandrinenstr. 31, 18119 Warnemunde, The Heimatmuseum Warnemunde is a folklore museum in the district of Warnemunde in the Hanseatic city of Rostock.The exhibition includes exhibits on the history of fishing and seafaring, on the pilotage and the rescue of the sea, here in detail about the history and the biography of the pilot commander Stephan Jantzen. A section of the exhibition shows the development of Warnemunde from the fishing to the seaside resort.

  • Brunnen Warnminner Umgang,Alexandrinenstr. 50, fountain with 19 bronze sculptures by Wolfgang Friedrich representing a procession of 19 people with a small stream of water.
  • Die Warnemunder Molen – East and west mole, Auf der Westmole, 18119 Warnemunde, on the Westmole, you can walk about 550 meters out to sea,a sheltered spot at the Westmole enjoying views of the harbor entrance and the beacon of the Ostmole.The popular Ostmole leads its visitors in wind and weather for about a kilometer across the Baltic Sea.   • Die Warnemunder Woche , Warnemunde Week is an international sailing event in the Baltic Sea resort of Warnemunde. The nine-day maritime competition taking place during the first full week of July will take place off the Warnemunde coast on the Mecklenburg Bay of the Baltic Sea and annually attracts around 2,000 sailors from 30 nations. This makes it the third largest regatta event in Germany after the Kieler Woche and the Travemunder Woche.
