Sequoia National Park is a national park in the United States, located in the southern Sierra Nevada, east of the city of Visalia in California.
The park is best known for its giant sequoias, including a specimen called General Sherman – the largest (by wood volume) tree on Earth. the volume of wood from this tree was just under 1,500 cubic meters. General Sherman grows in the Giant Forest, which contains five of the ten largest trees by timber volume in the world. The giant forest is connected by the Generals Highway to Grant Grove in Kings Canyon National Park, where, among other redwoods, the General Grant tree grows – the second largest tree in the world.
Other attractions include Moro Rock, which you can climb using a staircase specially built in the 1930s to view the surrounding area from a height of 75 meters above the ground.
If you choose the most photogenic locations in the world, then Sequoia National Park will definitely take pride of place in the top five.
