Bohemia   is a historical district in the western and central part of the modern Czech Republic . After the demise of the Great Moravian Empire (~ 907), Bohemia became the political center of the Czech-Moravian-Silesian area. After 1019 (or 1029) they were permanently connected with Moravia, then Silesia, both Lusatia and later also the Czech Palatinate and Brandenburg were added.
