Okoř Castle is the ruins of the castle, which is located in the western part of the village of the same name, about 15 km northwest of the center of Prague  in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic.

The castle was built in a valley between fields on a small rock surrounded by the Zakolansky brook at an altitude of 275 meters above sea level.

According to archaeological research, the castle was founded in the second half of the 13th century. The first written record dates back to 1359, when it was acquired by the rich burgher (patrician) of the Old Town of Prague, Frantisek Rokycansky. Even before that, the castle was remarkably Gothic rebuilt.
In the 16th century the castle was home to the Protestant line of the Martinic family. The castle was severely damaged during the Thirty Years’ War.In 1773 after the abolition of the Jesuit order by Pope Clement XIV. however, the administrator of the castle demolished the roofs and the material began to sell.
Around 1800 half of the massive big tower collapsed due to lack of maintenance. In the 19th century, the castle was also home to poor homes of the poor and the castle became a destination for many tourists or painters.  At the end of the 20th century the castle became the property of the village Okor, which now makes it accessible to visitors.

During the spring and summer months, period events are organized in the ruins, such as performances of knights’ associations. Every year in the second half of August, the open air festival Festival Okor takes place in a meadow close to the castle ruins.
