Cabo da Roca is a beautiful cliff that emerges 140 meters above the Atlantic. It is the westernmost end of Europe. It is located about 18 km from Sintra (about 40 km from Lisbon), within the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park, surrounded by small fishing villages hidden among the forests of Sintra.

The Portuguese national poet Luis de Camoes described the place as follows: Here … Where the earth ends and the sea begins … (Aqui … onde a terra acaba e o mar comeca).

In the area there is a lighthouse (Cabo da Roca Lighthouse) and a tourist shop. It is inserted in the Natural Park of Sintra-Cascais, in an area of easy access and great tourist affluence, with many people visiting it.

Access : Coordinates: 38.780833, -9.500556 / From Lisbon, the easiest way is to go in the Cascais direction on the A5 motorway (or the Marginal, if you don’t want to pay a toll) and take the N247 road north. /  By bus : Bus 403 (Cascais Line – Sintra)
This bus leaves from the Cascais terminal (20 minutes to Cabo da Roca) and from Sintra station (35 minutes to Cabo da Roca). Before boarding, make sure you stop at Cabo da Roca, since not all buses on line 403 do so.
