Czarny Staw pod Rysami or Czarny Staw nad Morski Okiem ( Black Lake below Mount Rysy ) is a mountain lake in the Polish part of the High Tatras.
The Czarny Staw is located in the Tatras, Poland, a few kilometers from Łysa Polana. The glacier lake is located at an altitude of 1580 meters.
The lake covers an area of about 20.5 hectares and is 76 meters deep, making it the second deepest stagnant water in the mountains.The waters of the Czarny Staw stream down the threshold in small cascades, creating a waterfall called Czarnostawiańska Sikława.
Czarny Staw Located in the Tatra National Park, it is about 11 km from Łysa Polana and a level difference of about 580 meters has to be overcome.
