Diani Beach is about 25 kilometers long, gently sloping, white sand beach on the Indian Ocean in Kenya.In fact, Diani Beach is a collective name for several beaches named after settlements, one passes into the other (listed from north to south): Tiwi Beach,Diani beach proper,Galu Beach,Kinondo Beach,Chale Beach.

The 25 km long white beaches run into the coastal town of Ukunda, which has an airport.The area is known for its coral reefs, the nearby Shimba Hills National Reserve, and its black and white colobus monkeys (Colobus).
There are several hotels along the  coast of Diani Beach and a number of bars  that are very popular with tourists and locals alike. Excursion possibilities to the nearby national parks make Diani Beach a popular place for the combination of a beach holiday and a safari.

Highlights :

  • At some distance from the coast, corals begin to be found, which subsequently become more and more, and this is what makes Diani Beach interesting diving destination.
  • Diani beach is still a popular place for kitesurfing.The best months for kitesurfing (when the wind is best) are December – March in winter and July – September in summer.
  • The Kenyan coast near Diani Beach is a great place for sea fishing. Marlin (both blue, striped and black) can be caught from November (ideally January) to March.
