Flåm is a village in the municipality of Aurland, Norway.
Flåm is located on the Aurlandsfjord, an offshoot of the Songfjord, the longest (204 km) and deepest (1308 m) fjord in Norway.
At the end of the 19th century, English and German passenger ships began to enter Flåm. Tourists were interested in the Norwegian fjords, mountains and waterfalls. It was thanks to the passengers of the liners that the first Flåm hotels were founded.
The village of Flåm has been a popular tourist destination since the end of the 19th century. It receives nearly 450,000 visitors per year. Most come for the Flåmsbana railway line,( The Flåm Railway is an incredible train route from Myrdal Hill Station to Flåm Station. On the way, you must admire the beautiful Aurlandsfjord, the arm of the longest fjord in the world – the Sognefjord. ) which runs the 20 km between Flåm station and Myrdal station in a grandiose setting. It is one of the steepest lines in the world. A former train station in Flåm now houses a museum dedicated to the line.
Access : Coordinates:60.8371, 7.1219 / Fjord1 Fylkesbaatane operates most of the scheduled boat and ferry services in the Sognefjord region. From May to the end of September, there is a ferry service between Flåm and Balestrand-Bergen.
/ By train : The Flåm station is located in the very center of the village. Getting from Flåm is easy to both Oslo and Bergen. / By bus : Regular bus service Fjord1 between Flåm and surrounding areas. Most bus lines are scheduled according to train timetables. Bus stations are located near railway stations. / Access by car to Flåm can be done by the European route E16 that connects Oslo and Bergen.

- You can see the virgin nature of the fjords both from kayaks and RIB boats / The Rallarvegen track between Flåm and Finse is popular with cycling tourists.
