Gellért Hill, known as Gellerthegi, is located in the heart of Budapest, the capital of Hungary, on the right bank of the Danube River.

The Hill was named in honor of Gerard of Hungary – a Catholic saint, educator of Hungary, killed by pagans.
At the top of the Gellért Hill is the Statue of Liberty, it was erected in 1947 to commemorate the capture of Budapest by the Red Army,
also at the summit is the citadel,The citadel is a massive fortress with bastions, decorated with figures and mosaics. The Citadel houses various museums and exhibitions dedicated to the history of Hungary. from the rop of the Hill you have a wide view of Budapest and in both directions along the Danube.

Gellért Hill is not just a beautiful hill, but also a popular landmark in Budapest and it is an integral part of UNESCO’s world heritage.
