Fontainhas is a Portuguese heritage colonial quarter in the city of Panjim , the capital of the Indian state of Goa.

located in the eastern part of the city of Panjim, between Morro do Altinho, the neighborhood of São Tomé and the so-called Ourém river.
The neighborhood offers a perception of what Panjim was like at the time of Portuguese rule, its houses date back to the 19th century and are of Indo-Portuguese architecture, with balconies and beautiful windows. They have no more than two floors and their painting uses Mediterranean colors such as white, blue, red and yellow. The neighborhood’s streets are narrow and winding, with alleys, lanes and staircases.
Entering the Fontainhas area is like entering a bygone Portuguese era ,the colorful houses with balconies, narrow streets and red roofs make for an impressive sight , this picturesque neighborhood guarantee superb photos ,worthy of being on your Instagram feed.
