This Privacy Policy explains what personal data The Wanders collects, why we collect it, how we use it and what your rights are. It applies to thewanders.eu and the Field Guides shop at thewanders.eu/field-guides/.

We collect the minimum data necessary to run this site. We do not sell your data to anyone.

1. Who we are

The Wanders is an independent travel editorial platform. We are the data controller for all personal data collected through thewanders.eu.

When you buy a Field Guide we collect:

• Name and email address — to send your order confirmation and download link
• Payment information — processed by Stripe on our behalf; we never see or store your full card details
• Order details — what you purchased, when and at what price
• IP address — recorded at checkout for fraud prevention and legal compliance

2.2 When you download a free guide

When you request a free Field Guide we collect:

• Email address — to deliver the guide and, with your consent, send The Hidden Dispatch newsletter

2.3 When you subscribe to The Hidden Dispatch

When you subscribe to our newsletter we collect:

• Email address — to send the newsletter
• Subscription date and source — to manage our mailing list

Legal basis: Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) — you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email

2.4 When you visit the website

We collect anonymised analytics data about how visitors use thewanders.eu. This includes:

• Pages visited and time spent
• Approximate geographic location (country level)
• Device type and browser
• Traffic source (how you found us)

This data is collected via Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation enabled and is not linked to your identity unless you are logged in.

We use a small number of trusted third-party services. Each processes data on our behalf under a Data Processing Agreement.

We do not use Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel or any advertising tracking tools.
