These Terms and Conditions govern the purchase of digital products from The Wanders Field Guides shop at thewanders.eu/field-guides/. By completing a purchase you agree to these terms. Please read them before buying.
1. Who we are
The Wanders is an independent travel editorial platform operating at thewanders.eu. For all legal and commercial purposes relating to the Field Guides shop, contact us at:

2. What we sell
The Wanders Field Guides are downloadable PDF documents. Each guide is a curated editorial product — a selection of travel destinations, practical information and editorial context written and designed by The Wanders team.
We sell two types of product:
Free Field Guides — available at no cost in exchange for an email address. No purchase transaction occurs. These are governed by our Privacy Policy rather than these Terms.
Complete Field Guides — paid PDF downloads priced between €10 and €18 per guide. These Terms apply to all paid purchases.
3. How a contract is formed
A contract between you and The Wanders is formed at the moment you complete payment at checkout. You will receive an order confirmation email immediately after purchase. This email is your proof of purchase — keep it.
The contract is for the supply of digital content. It is formed in English and governed by the laws of the European Union and the country in which The Wanders is registered.
4. Price and payment
Prices are displayed in Euros (€) inclusive of any applicable VAT. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay — no hidden charges, no additional fees.
Payment is processed securely via Stripe. The Wanders does not store your card details. Full payment is required at the time of purchase.
If you are purchasing from outside the European Union, your bank or card provider may apply additional charges. These are beyond our control and are your responsibility.
5. Delivery
Field Guides are delivered instantly upon successful payment as a downloadable PDF file. You will receive a download link in your order confirmation email and can also access your purchases at any time from My Account → Orders.
Download links are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. If your link expires or your download fails, contact us at hello@thewanders.eu and we will resolve it promptly.
6. Your right to withdraw
If you are a consumer based in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from this purchase within 14 calendar days without giving any reason.
Digital content exception: At checkout you are asked to confirm that delivery of the digital content begins immediately and that you acknowledge losing your right of withdrawal once the download begins. If you confirm this and download the guide, your withdrawal right ends at the moment of download.
If you have not yet downloaded the guide, your 14-day withdrawal right remains in full. To exercise it, go to My Account → Orders and use the withdrawal button, or contact us at hello@thewanders.eu.

7. Intellectual property
All content in The Wanders Field Guides — text, design, maps, illustrations and editorial selections — is the intellectual property of The Wanders and is protected by copyright.
When you purchase a Field Guide you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read and use the guide for your own private travel purposes.
You may not:
- Share, distribute or forward the PDF to other people
- Reproduce, copy or republish any part of the guide
- Sell or resell the guide in any form
- Use the guide’s content for commercial purposes without written permission
A licence is for one person. If you would like to use a guide for a group, a tour operator or a commercial purpose, contact us to discuss licensing options.
8. Updates
We update our Field Guides regularly as destinations, prices and practical information change. If you have purchased a guide and a major update is released within 12 months of your purchase date, we will send you the updated version at no additional charge. Contact us at hello@thewanders.eu with your order number to request an update.
9. Accuracy of content
The Wanders Field Guides are written with care and based on current research at the time of publication. However travel conditions change — businesses close, access routes alter, opening times shift. We cannot guarantee that every detail in a guide remains accurate after publication.
The Wanders Field Guides are editorial products intended to inspire and inform travel planning. They are not a substitute for checking current conditions before you travel.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Wanders is not liable for:
- Loss or damage arising from reliance on information in our guides
- Technical issues outside our control including device incompatibility or file corruption
- Indirect or consequential losses of any kind
Our total liability for any claim arising from a purchase is limited to the price paid for the relevant guide.
Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer under EU law.
11. Prohibited uses
You may not use The Wanders Field Guides or this shop for any unlawful purpose. You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of our systems. We reserve the right to cancel any order and refuse service if we believe these Terms are being abused.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in law or our business. The Terms that apply to your purchase are those in effect at the time of purchase. We will not apply changes retrospectively.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by EU consumer law. If a dispute arises that we cannot resolve between us, you may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
