About the guides
What is a Wanders Field Guide? A Field Guide is a downloadable PDF document — a curated editorial selection of travel destinations with practical information, written and designed by The Wanders team. It is not a standard travel guide. It is built to the same editorial standard as the articles on thewanders.eu: every destination chosen for a reason, every paragraph earning its place.
What is the difference between the free guide and the paid guide? The free guide is a genuine starting point — not a thin teaser. It covers six destinations in one editorial paragraph each, with season notes and our travel philosophy. The paid complete guide covers 40 destinations with full editorial depth, GPS coordinates, producer and market contacts, regional maps and recommended itineraries. Both are real products. The paid guide is simply much more comprehensive.
What format are the guides? PDF. Designed to work on screen, tablet or printed. The layout is clean and readable on any device.
Can I read them on my phone or tablet? Yes. The guides are designed for screen reading — the text is large enough to read comfortably on a phone, and the layout adapts well to tablet screens. Any PDF reader will open them: Apple Books, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Google Drive or your device’s built-in PDF viewer.
Are the guides available in other languages? Currently in English only. We may produce editions in other languages in future.
Buying a guide
How do I buy a guide? Go to thewanders.eu/field-guides, choose the guide you want and complete the checkout. Payment is processed securely via Stripe. You do not need to create an account to purchase — though creating one makes it easier to access your downloads later.
What payment methods do you accept? We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and Apple Pay and Google Pay where available. Payment is handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card details.
Do prices include VAT? Yes. All prices displayed are inclusive of applicable VAT.
Can I get a receipt or invoice? Yes. Your order confirmation email serves as your receipt. If you need a formal invoice for business purposes, contact us at hello@thewanders.eu with your order number.
Downloading your guide
How do I download my guide after purchase? You will receive an order confirmation email with a download link immediately after purchase. Click the link to download the PDF. You can also access your purchases at any time by logging into your account at My Account → Orders.
My download link has expired. What do I do? Download links are valid for 12 months. If your link has expired or your download failed for any reason, contact us at hello@thewanders.eu with your order number and we will resend it promptly.
I can’t open the PDF. What should I do? Try opening it with a different PDF reader. We recommend Adobe Acrobat Reader (free) if you are having trouble with your device’s built-in viewer. If the problem persists, contact us and we will help.
Can I download the guide more than once? Yes. You can download your purchased guides multiple times from My Account → Orders within the 12-month link validity period.
Sharing and licensing
Can I share the guide with friends or family? No. Each purchase is a personal, single-user licence. Sharing the PDF with others is not permitted under our Terms and Conditions — the same way you wouldn’t share a paid ebook without permission.
Can I use the guide for a tour group or commercial purpose? Not under a standard single-user purchase. If you want to use a guide for a group, a tour operator or any commercial purpose, contact us at hello@thewanders.eu to discuss licensing options. We are open to these conversations.
Can I print the guide? Yes — for your own personal use. You may print a copy for yourself to carry while travelling.
Updates
Are the guides updated? Yes. We update our guides regularly as destinations, prices and practical information change. Major updates are released every 6–12 months.
Will I receive updates I’ve already paid for? If a major update is released within 12 months of your purchase date, we will send you the updated version at no additional charge. Contact us at hello@thewanders.eu with your order number to request the latest version.
Refunds
Can I get a refund? If you downloaded the guide and confirmed at checkout that delivery would begin immediately, the 14-day EU withdrawal right ends at the moment of download. However we operate a goodwill policy: if the guide’s content is materially different from its description, or if you experienced a technical problem, we will refund you. If you are genuinely unhappy for any reason, contact us — we would rather refund you than have a dissatisfied reader.

How do I request a withdrawal or refund? Go to My Account → Orders and use the withdrawal button — this is the fastest route. Or email hello@thewanders.eu with your order number and the subject line “Refund Request.”
Free guides
How do I get a free guide? Go to thewanders.eu/free-guides, enter your email address and the guide will be delivered to your inbox immediately. No payment required.
Will I receive marketing emails after downloading a free guide? With your consent, you will be subscribed to The Hidden Dispatch — our free twice-monthly newsletter covering the places worth finding and the trails worth following. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting hello@thewanders.eu.
The Hidden Dispatch newsletter
What is The Hidden Dispatch? The Hidden Dispatch is The Wanders’ free newsletter — sent twice a month. It covers new destinations, Civilisation Trail updates, Field Guide news and editorial dispatches from the Beyond the Map editorial team. Subscribers hear about new free guides before anyone else.
How do I subscribe? Subscribe at thewanders.eu/newsletter or download any free guide.
How do I unsubscribe? Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any newsletter email. You will be removed immediately.
