Lysebotn is a village at the end of the Lysefjord in Sandnes Municipality in the Norwegian province of Rogaland.
The village is also known for the serpentine road built in 1984 with 27 hairpin bends and a helical tunnel, which connects it to the high plateau to the south.
The power plant, which used to be the region’s main employer, caused a drastic decline in population due to increasing automation and the associated loss of jobs. It wasn’t until nearby Kjerag was discovered for base jumping that tourism became a new mainstay for Lysebotn.
Today the place It is a tourist destination with over 100,000 visitors a year. Lysebotn is the starting point for many BASE jumpers in connection with jumping from Kjerag.

- Lysebotn Opp is organized as part of the Blinkfestivalen summer biathlon competitions. It is an uphill race over 7.5 km on the serpentine road with roller skis in free technique.
- Lyseveien, county road 500, to Sirdal goes through 27 hairpin bends up one side of the mountain and is 29 km long. The road was opened in 1984 and has its highest point 932 masl. At the top of the turns is Øygardstølen where there is a parking lot, service building for trips to Kjerag and serving food.
- Lyse chapel is located in Lysebotn and was built in 1961.
- 640 m above Lysebotn is Øygardstølen on this road, a starting point for hikes to Kjerag.
