Nijinomatsubara is a 360-year-old pine forest located in Karatsu, Saga Prefecture, Japan.

This forest is a belt of trees 400 – 700 m wide and about 4 km long. Its total area is 240 hectares. The forest was planted by the feudal lord Terazawa as a measure against the strong winds and tides of Karatsu Bay.
Formerly called “the black pine forest of a million trees” Today it is a popular tourist spot that is included in a list of the 100 most beautiful places in Japan, there are many hotels to stay nearby.
