Point Arena Lighthouse is a lighthouse located north of Point Arena in Mendocino County, California, in the United States.

The first Europeans who arrive at Point Arena was the Spanish Bartolome Ferrer in 1543, who called him Cabo de Fortunas (Cape of Fortunes). The cape was renamed Punta Delgado in 1775 by Lieutenant Juan Francisco de la Bodega y Quadra (commander of the schooner Sonora), member of a royal expedition chartered by the government of Mexico to map the north coast of Upper California. . Later, the cape and the small port town to the south of it, were called Barra de Arena, then Point Arena. Point Arena is a narrow sandy peninsula that measures 800 m and this sand bar creates a natural danger for navigation, hence the need for a lighthouse and a fog signal.
