Rab  is an island in Croatia and a town of the same name located just off the northern Croatian coast in the Adriatic Sea. The island is 22 km (14 mi) long, has an area of 93.6 km2 (36 sq mi) and 9,328 inhabitants (2011). The highest peak is Kamenjak at 408 m. The northeastern side of the island is mostly barren, karst, while the southwestern side is covered by one of the last oak forests of the Mediterranean. Ferries connect the island of Rab with the mainland port of Stinica and with the neighbouring islands of Krk and Pag. European Coastal Airlines offered multiple daily connections by seaplane from Rab to Zagreb and to Rijeka via Rijeka Airport in Omisalj on the neighboring island of Krk, until it ceased operations in 2016.

Understand :  Rab is just off the northern coast of Croatia in the Adriatic Sea, today in the Primorje-Gorski Kotar county. The island was the frontier between Liburnia and Dalmatia. Rab is one of the most popular islands in the north Adria, with the town as beautiful as Dubrovnik, and green woods as in Mljet National Park.

After Opatija, Rab was one of the first vacation and wellness oases in the Kvarner archipelago region, also known as the pioneer of the nudism. Rab offers everything necessary for a great holiday — friendly people, good facilities, nice climate and great beaches.

Access : Coordinates : 44.7833, 14.7519 / By ferry :  Rab can be accessed by ferry from Valbiska on island Krk and from Stinica near Jablanac on mainland. By plane :  European Coastal Airlines drive few hydroplane connections with Rab from Rijeka, Zadar, Split and Mali Losinj. Schedule. By bus :  Direct bus line from Rijeka trough Senj is connecting island Rab with mainland.

Activities : On the island it is possible to practice: swimming, diving, sport fishing, cycling (80 km of cycle paths), basketball, beach volleyball, tennis, table tennis, water skiing, parasailing, mini golf, pedal boats, sailing and windsurfing.
