The island of Loreto ( Isola di Loreto ) is located in Lake Iseo, the fourth largest lake in Lombardy, Italy, north of Montisola, and is a private property.
In the heart of Lake Iseo, on the island of Loreto, precisely near Monte Isola in front of Carzano in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy, there is a small neo-Gothic style castle, built over the years between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, two square towers and the medieval-style walls are clearly visible.
The pretty island and the annexed fortification are admirable but privately owned, which can be visited on very rare occasions by invitation.The best way to see the island is by renting a sailing boat.

Highlights :
- At the end of the fifteenth century, the island was bought by the sisters of Saint Catherine of Brescia, who set up a convent there but abandoned it in 1580. When Charles Borromeo visited it, he saw only a hermit there. named Pietro.
- In 1910, Richieri built a neo-Gothic castle there and created a garden of conifers, a marina and two lighthouse towers.
- There were many changes of ownership until the Venetian Duchess Felicita Bevilacqua left the island to the Opera Pia Asilo Bevilacqua in Verona who sold it in October 1900 to the navy captain Vincenzo Richieri of Sale Marasino. The buyer had the architect Luigi Tombola build the current villa on the existing remains, trying to recreate a small castle, made even more mysterious by the thick vegetation of pines, larch trees and exotic plants.
