The air link between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur is the busiest in the world. With more than 30,500 flights taking place between the airports of the two cities last year. An average of 84 flights of about one hour’s time connect the two airports daily, and there are plans to build a high-speed rail link between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur, which is expected to be completed in 2026.
In this way, the journey will last 90 minutes, and so far it takes four to five hours to reach this distance. In Asia, there are 14 of the world’s 20 busiest flights, the London-based airline analysis company OAG said.
Outside Asia, the busiest air link is between New York’s Lagarde Airport and Porthson Airport in Toronto, with 16,956 flights. As for the number of passengers, the flight between Hong Kong and Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, remains the first with 6.5 million passengers. The second is the connection between Singapore and Jakarta, with 4.7 million passengers, and third between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur with 4 million.
